Magazine - Knitters 1985, Premiere Issue

$25.00Price

Knitter's (they added the apostrophe in 1988) had a 30-year run, from 1985 until 2016, not bad for a knitting magazine. In the first issue, editor Elaine Rowley explained how she learned to knit watching a TV show hosted by Elizabeth Zimmermann on her local PBS station in South Dakota, and publisher Alexis Xenakis told how he had the pleasure of visiting Zimmermann in Wisconsin and convincing her to write a regular column for Knitter's, with her young daughter Meg (now Meg Swensen) also a contributor. This is the very first issue, focusing on guernseys. See our photos for the table of contents. 58 pages.
